Recently the Tewksbury residents who are members of Free Christian Church of Andover organized a group dedicated to serving those Tewksbury residents in need. The group, calling themselves Christians for Tewksbury, plan on holding events to raise funds, food, clothing and services for their less fortunate neighbors. Their 1st effort held May 29 & 30th 2009 was a food drive at the Oakdale Plaza Market Basket to benefit the Tewksbury Community Pantry, 999 Whipple Road. With the outstanding cooperation and approval of Market Basket the group passed out a list of items that were suggested by and in short supply at the Pantry as the shoppers entered the store. The two day drive proved to be an outstanding success as the local shoppers demonstrated their generous side by purchasing and donating what is estimated to be over ½ ton of food along with a substantial monetary donation of $400.71! Our generous community once again came through for a great cause.
Below is a photo of Greg Reynolds and Karen Ford at the Tewksbury Community Pantry after the food was delivered.

The 2nd photo shows the Francois at their collection point at Oakdale Plaza on Saturday,

Thanks to all who contributed and volunteered!
